Mabinogi Tips and Tricks

This Topic is designed for veterans and beginners of Mabinogi to put any and all advice, tips, and tricks they have learned for other members of Akatsubaki to read and learn for themselves. This should be a place for people who are knew to learn the ropes, and for those who are old to offer wisdom, advice, or seek knowledge themselves. Anyone who has any knowledge is free to post here.

Mimic Pits: Finding a chest among Mimics

Explanation: When a player selects an enemy to attack and cancels their attack, they will stop at a specific distance away from the enemy. The same thing occurs when applied to Mimics, but not chests. When a player clicks to open a chest and cancels their action, they will stop on top of the chest.

Process: First, start with your character a small distance away (This is to prevent the character from attempting to open the chest immediately). Click to open the chest, and while your character is running or walking towards the chest, change your mode from either normal or combat mode (it does not matter which you start in, as long as you change it). This cancels the players action and they will simply stop at the target. If the character stops in, on, or touches the chest, then it is a real chest, but if they stop before reaching the chest, it is a Mimic.

Benefits: The player no longer needs to use Area of Effect skills to find and defeat mimics. This saves any Stamina or Mana used in activating the skill. The player also, no longer needs to summon a mountable pet to either aggress or use to test chests. This method also does not put the user in any harm when looking for a chest among mimics. They simply test the chest using the method and move on or assault it if it happens to be a mimic.

Here's a tip: BE SMART
It's an online community so you'll find trolls, scammer and etc. Well here's are some tip to avoid getting scam.

1) If you're trying to sell an item and someone ask to hold it or look at it, say no cause chances are they'll take the item and run away. Just show the buyer through the trade inventory.

2) Don't ever do drop trade. If you're about to trade item or buy something and they tell you that their trade is broken. And they suggest going to their homestead to drop trade in two corner so both of you walk to your item. Then you're about to get scammed, because they will kick you out of their homestead. (But if you still want to be stubborn and try it, then use transformation skill with dream catcher. Player that is transformed in homestead cannot be kicked out.)

3) Reputation is something that most player will take advantage of. They will say that they're old beta tester and that they won't scam because they have a rep to keep. Don't trust them whether they're the actual player or not be cautious.
